Max Beesley, Musician and Actor – A Man of Many Talents

Max Beesley in the movie Jamestown (2017)

Max Beesley - a man of many talents - was born 47 years ago in a small suburb in the city of Manchester, in the north west of England. Max Beesley may be primarily known for his current role in the British thriller series Mad Dogs, but he also played a big role in the movie Torque and Red Roses and Petrol. Though Beesley has had some lead acting roles in the past-acting was not his first choice.

Many might not know, but Beesley was actually a musician early in his life. He got the inspiration to pursue a musical career at an early age all thanks to his father, who played the drums, and his mother, who was a jazz singer. Before making the official transition to an actor, Beesley was quite a successful musician. He began as part of the choir for the Manchester Cathedral and later moved on to bigger things. And by bigger things we refer to him becoming percussionist and pianist for the well-known British singer, Robbie Williams.

Max Beesley had a good career as a musician, but as we all know he expanded his horizons and became an actor - a decision that we definitely cannot criticize. For this reason, we love to call Mr. Beesley a man of many talents. No matter what industry he goes into, he manages to make it to the top. Thanks to all of his hard work and dedication, he’s managed to work alongside great talent such as Ice Cube, Mariah Carey, Ray Liotta, and Forest Whitaker. A winner will always be a winner, and on this special day that will not change. Happy Birthday, Max Beesley!

Happy Birthday, Joan Baez – a musician, activist and inspiration for a generation

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation would like to proudly wish Joan Baez a Happy 76th Birthday. Her strong charisma has led her to be a strong activist in many areas of conflict around the world. Aside from being an activist, she uses her music to inspire peace and understanding wherever she goes.

If we can learn anything from Joan Baez it is that we should be able to help and stand up for people by supporting great and charitable causes. “What’s had meaning in my life is what I have done out in the world for other people, way more than the music, and way more than the money,” says Baez in an interview in the documentary film Welcome to Eden. World Wide recognizes her today for her ceaseless efforts in preserving the small farm which had been located in the heart of South Central Los Angeles. Congratulations once again on another year, Joan Baez. World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation wishes you the best in your future endeavors that are to come.

Joan Baez On Tour in Australia and New Zealand

The iconic American folk singer, songwriter, musician, and activist Joan Baez announced last month a 2015 Australian and New Zealand tour. Some of her popular and hit songs include “Diamond & Rust”, “Night They Drove Old Dixie Town”, “Blowin’ in the Wind”, and  “Farewell Angelina” and the tour begins September 17 at the Royal Theatre in Canberra and ends at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide on October 12.

Joan Baez has been known for her philanthropic and activist mentality and actions. Her beautiful songs represent major themes of social justice and have often been considered “protest songs” of her day. On May 21st, 2015, Baez received the Amnesty International’s Ambassador for Conscience Award, recognizing her lifelong commitment as an outspoken activist, subjects evident in her rich music catalogue.

“The Ambassador of Conscience Award is a celebration of those unique individuals who have used their talents to inspire many, many others to take injustice personally. That is why both Joan Baez and Ai Weiwei make such worthy recipients; they are an inspiration to thousands more human rights activists, from across Asia to America and beyond,” said Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International.

Joan Baez has led an extraordinary life. She used her songs to protest in Vietnam, fought for women’s rights, participated in a protest with Dr. King, and most recently was featured in the documentary film Welcome to Eden. The documentary took place in the year 2006 where farmers and activists, such as Daryl Hannah and Willie Nelson, came together to stop an awful eviction of the fourteen acres of farmland in South Central Los Angeles and prevent the largest farm in America. Baez was part of the farming demonstration. She sang and voiced her opinion that a land developer, Ralph Horwitz, wanted to get rid of.

You can read more about Joan Baez on tour here and on her website. Welcome to Eden is now available on VOD and DVD.
