On April 29th 1933, country star Willie Nelson was born and today we celebrate another special year! Not only has this singer and songwriter touched the hearts of many people through his hit songs like Crazy and On The Road Again but he has also extended his compassion to helping the animal kingdom. Nelson has been involved in various animal welfare groups like, Best Friends Animal Society and Animal Welfare Institute. He recorded the song Wild Horses to benefit the cause and show support. Not only did Willie Nelson make a huge contribution to the animal kingdom he also made a huge impact with movie fans all over the world with his broad range of acting skills.

Throughout his career, Willie Nelson has been in over 30 films ranging from Western classics like, Once Upon A Texas Train and Barbarosa to crime dramas such as Pair of Aces and Songwriter. His highest grossing film was the romantic drama Honeysuckle Rose, directed by Jerry Schatzberg. Nelson plays a country singer on the road caught in a love triangle between Dyan Cannon and Amy Irving. A few personal favorite films have to be The Big Bounce starring actors such as Owen Wilson, and Morgan Freeman and also the well known classic Welcome to Eden. Whether you’re a western, comedy, romance, crime drama, or action adventure fan, there’s a Willie Nelson film out there that will catch your attention. Willie has shown the world his incredible talent by giving the audience amazing music and movies that we can cherish forever.

After the huge success of his album Stardust in 1993, Nelson managed to get inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He’s worked alongside artists such as Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Julio Iglesias, and Waylon Jennings who have contributed to his success. Willie is known for many things such as being an American musician, actor, singer and songwriter, activist, poet and author. Willie Nelson is the definition of fine wine - all of his work gets better with age. He’s currently traveling the country, selling out concerts and singing his heart out to classics like Help Me Make it Through The Night and Always On My Mind. Willie has released more than 200 albums during his six decade career and is set to release his newest album, “Last Man Standing” on April 27th. World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation would like to wish actor Ronnie Marmo a Happy Birthday! Originally from Brooklyn, Marmo’s acting career began with leading roles in Italian American Reconciliation and Lusting After Pipino’s Wife. He was recognized for both plays by the New Jersey ACT with awards for outstanding lead male actor. He won the Cable ACE award in 1997 as the host and producer of the Documentary of the Year. He then joined the Broadway National Touring Company as “Tony” in Tony N Tina’s Wedding.

Ronnie Marmo has produced, directed and starred in dozens of plays, including the critically acclaimed Bill W and Dr Bob, which has played to many sold out audiences. He enjoyed a six month run starring as “Lenny Bruce” in the one man production of Lenny’s Back . . and boy is he pissed.

He has also written several scripts, both for the stage and the screen. His favorite is the semi-autobiographical story, West of Brooklyn. The 68 Cent Crew produced the play for the stage and received critics pick from the L.A. Times, L.A. Weekly and Backstage West. Ronnie Marmo also adapted West of Brooklyn as well as produced and starred in the film for the screen and 68 Cent Features. It can be found on DVD. He produced and starred in the movie.

Documenting the events from the viewpoints of Willie Nelson, Joan Baez, and Daryl Hannah, the latter of whom was arrested during the eviction in solidarity with immigrant farmers, the film captures the raw emotion that surrounded the scene in the time leading up to the farm’s end.

The story of South Central Urban Farm is complicated and in many ways dependent on perspective. While The Garden depicts the events from the point-of-view of the three interests involved in the drama – the urban farmers, the original land-rights owner Ralph Horowitz, and The City of Los Angeles, Welcome To Eden specifically showcases the battle through the eyes of the farmer activists and their celebrity allies. Unfortunately, in 2006, the farmers lost the battle to Horowitz and the land was bulldozed. Today, after stalled talks between Horowitz and both Wal-Mart and Forever 21, the lot remains vacant.
