What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than to watch a film honoring and celebrating your dad. If you’re looking for a last-minute movie inspiration, here are some movies we recommend you watch with your old man.

The Incredibles 2

Pixar’s latest film The Incredibles 2 opened in theaters this week nearly 14 years after Director Brad Bird’s original The Incredibles film. The long-awaited sequel is a superhero movie like no other, and its plot revolves around stay-at-home father Bob (Craig T. Nelson), aka Mr. Incredible, taking care of their three children, while his wife Helen (Holly Hunter), goes out and fights crime. Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Frozone in the film, and we will see new characters voiced by Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener. The result is an inspiring summer film which offers an opportunity for stay-at-home fatherhood to be portrayed in a positive, stereotype-breaking, and super-heroic light.

Ways to Live Forever

Robbie Kay and Ella Purnell star in the heartwarming film about a 12-year-old boy dying of leukemia. Sam (Robbie Kay) has a list of things he wants to do before he dies and is writing his memories in a book entitled “Ways to Live Forever.” His father Daniel (Ben Chaplin) is a quiet man who refuses to accept his son’s illness. The movie is based on the award-winning novel of the same name and also includes cast members Emilia Fox and Greta Scacchi.

Star Wars

“I am your father,” a line uttered by Darth Vader to his son Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, is one of the most iconic film quotes in all of history and there's a good chance your father will want to take a trip down memory lane and re-watch this epic series. It’s worth noting that Solo: A Star Wars Story is still playing in theaters and is the latest installment in the series, starring Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, and Emilia Clarke. The film follows young Han Solo and Chewbacca as they join a gang of galactic smugglers.

Happy 21st Birthday, Ella Purnell! Since beginning her acting career in 2010, Ella Purnell has starred in over 10 films and shows before her 21st birthday. With her breakout roles in Never Let Me Go and Ways To Live Forever in 2010, Ella has launched herself into the movie spotlight. With her ultimate goal of reaching her mother in Seattle, Ella showcases her skills in a mature drama; bringing her character and traumatic experiences to the big screen.

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016)

In Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Ella Purnell plays the mischievous and eccentric Emma Bloom. With the ability to manipulate air and breathe underwater, Ella helps her fellow orphan “peculiars” to fight against the evil forces hunting them down. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was directed by Tim Burton and is an exhilarating dark fantasy film.

5. Churchill (2017)

Ella Purnell plays Winston Churchill’s secretary in Churchill. Based on Churchill’s experiences during World War II, the film goes in-depth to portray Churchill’s private moments and mental sanity during the war. Ella’s strong character, Helen, brings courage and insight to Churchill’s sensitivity in the war room during the war.

There is absolutely no question that today’s doctors are some of the most heroic figures in the world. They dedicate a lot of time which begins in their schooling years and spend long nights studying so that they can one day make this world a better place for the greater good. Their work days are some of the longest out there. They don’t think twice about making great sacrifices, and around the world, in some cases, doctors even place their lives on the front lines for others. At the end of the day, they do their work without seeking credit or publicity. Sometimes we may not like going in for a checkup or physical, but a trip to the docs office can keep our bodies in shape and can even save our lives.

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation supports doctors everywhere. During the campaign for the release of the feature film Ways To Live Forever, with Robbie Kay and Ella Purnell, WWMPC reached out to John Hopkin’s University, which is a world leader in research and education in medicine as well as public health, to talk about how we can give back to them. Ultimately, a portion of the proceeds from the release of the were set aside to help fund pediatric cancer programs at John Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Though this was only a small token of gratitude towards doctors and researchers everywhere, our appreciation for them speaks volumes. While doctors don’t wear capes, their white coats will forever symbolize their heroic works in which we today recognize and acknowledge. Doctors worldwide: we thank you and salute you for all your hard work and dedication.

Back in 2010, actors Robbie Kay and Ella Purnell became more visible to American audiences with the release of the film Ways to Live Forever, but now, they are both well-established actors with their careers expanding further than anyone could ever dream for them!

Since Ways to Live Forever, Robbie Kay has worked on many projects on the big screens and on television. Robbie was the Cabin Boy in 2011 for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, assisting Captain Jack Sparrow find the fountain of youth. He then moved on to the 2013 release of Rita, a television movie about a private-school teacher struggling to raise her three children, along with becoming Peter Pan on Freeform’s (formerly ABC Family) hit television series Once Upon a Time. Playing Rumplestiltskin's father in the series along with being the main antagonist for nearly an entire season, Kay has taken the hearts of many across America. If being the main antagonist on Once Upon a Time wasn’t enough for Kay, he soon became the main protagonist in Heroes Reborn, playing Tommy Clark, the son of Claire from the beloved Heroes series. The spinoff of Heroes showcased Kay learning to use his powers and attempting to save the world with his character’s sister.

Although most of his appearances on television are coming to an end in early 2016, he has a new film coming out this year called Cold Moon where he plays Ben Redfield. Not much is known about the film currently, but with an all-star cast including Josh Stewart, Candy Clark, Frank Whaley, and Christopher Lloyd alongside with Robbie Kay, the film is sure to be a success!

Ella Purnell, unlike Robbie, started her career in 2010 with Ways to Live Forever and Never Let Me Go playing Kaleigh and Young Ruth, respectively. Her career slowly started with these two films as she continued her career with Candy, a short, and Intruders in 2011. It wasn’t until 2013 where she made her appearance in Kick-Ass 2, as Dolce, when her career started to pick up. After that appearance, she took a turn and played the teenage Maleficent in Disney’s Maleficent in 2014, the tragic backstory of the “evil” queen. She ended her 2014 year as the main lead in Wildlike, a drama about a teenage girl running away from home. Entering the 2015 year, Ella starred in Cyberbully, a television movie about a girl being blackmailed into doing an anonymous hacker’s bidding. Her next project was no surprise after her appearance in Disney’s Maleficent, as she starred in The Legend of Tarzan, as young Jane alongside with Ways to Live Forever’s Ben Chaplin, who played Robbie Kay’s father in the film. However, the 2016 year is not over for Purnell as she has four featured films coming up in late 2016 - early 2017.

The most anticipated film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children showcases Ella as Emma Bloom. Her other three films that do not have a release date yet are Access All Areas, Churchill, and The Journey is the Destination. Not much is known about these three films either, but after Miss Peregine’s, Ella’s expected to be a big star in the film industry!

Congratulations to the Ways to Live Forever stars; they both have gone a long way since 2010, when the film was first released in the United States. Six years later and they have established their names into films, shorts, and television. We can’t wait to see how far they will go.

Currently, there’s also a blood shortage in the United States and giving blood is one of the easiest ways you can help save lives. “Every two seconds, a patient needs blood,” according to  Todd Kulman, the external communications manager for the Red Cross Badger-Hawkeye Blood Services Region. We have the technology to save almost everyone, if we have regular blood and organ donors. This year you can show your love by become an organ donor at the DMV or giving blood at you local Red Cross Center and then curling up with a great film from World Wide Motion Pictures. Which has a number of films that will make you feel good about both of these yearly milestones.

The Disney Expo is the mini Comic Con event of the year and gives fans, families, and kids alike the chance to come out to the Anaheim Convention Center and check out what the happiest place on Earth is up to. The expo gave fans the opportunity to get a first hand look at everything Disney—from movies, to video games, this is the place to go to get your Disney fix. The convention ran from August 14th to August 16th and some of the biggest highlights came from the Star Wars segment, the Marvel segment, and the announcement of release dates of every Disney film from now until 2017. Captain America: Civil War was one of the biggest highlights, as well as the announcement of Star Wars parks at both Disneyland and Disneyworld. These will be the biggest additions to both parks in the history of Disney.

But the main story that came from D23 was the release dates for some of your favorite Disney movies. Some important dates and movies to put down in your calendar are: May 6th 2016 Captain America: Civil War, May 27th 2016 Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, and July 2017 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Most notably is the moving of the highly anticipated live action remake Tarzan starring Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Ways to Live Forever actress Ella Purnell, which was slated for a July 2017 release, to an unannounced date in either 2018 or 2019. This comes as a huge surprise to many as the original release date was October of next year. With Tarzan moved back, it gave way to the big announcement of a live action movie based on the classic ride The Jungle Cruise, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has already been confirmed to take on the lead role.

Overall, the Disney Expo 2015 was a great success, and although the moving of Tarzan is sad, you can get your Disney fix on many other movies including the newest movies of Alice in Wonderland and yet another Captain Jack Sparrow movie.

This year’s Richmond International Film Festival featured Ella Purnell’s new film Wildlike on the homepage and it was declared Best Feature Film of the festival. The film follows a troubled teen girl, Mackenzie (Ella Purnell), who was sent to live with her inappropriate uncle (Brian Geraghty) by her unstable mother. Rene Bartlett (Greenwood) is a hiker wanting nothing more than to be alone; however, an unlikely friendship bonds the girl and the hiker as they both explore Alaska’s beautiful terrain. While traveling together, their friendship helps them heal their past. The film is a multi award-winner, having also garnered six Best Narrative awards and two awards for Best Director.

Justin Lowe from The Hollywood Reporter stated, “By turns both tough and vulnerable, [Purnell] conveys Mackenzie’s inner turmoil and frequent desperation with both empathy and economy, skirting the ever-present pitfalls of over-emoting.” It’s no surprise that Purnell is a rising star in the movie business.

Ella Purnell has played minor roles in other major films and they have garnered several awards and nominations, including the recent Maleficent, where she played the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty as a teenager. The movie won Best Original Score for a Fantasy/Science Fiction/Horror Film at the International Film Music Critics Award (IFMCA). Maleficent was also nominated for Best Achievement in Costume Design at the Academy Awards and Best Feature Film at BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). In Ways To Live Forever, distributed by World Wide Motion Pictures, a film about a young boy named Sam who is discovering and searching for information about his battle with leukemia. Kayleigh (Purnell), Sam’s love interest, helps him complete items on his bucket list off and find the answers he looks for. The film won Best Picture at the Toledo Film Festival and Audience Award at the Heartland Film Festival. If these awards and nominations continue for Purnell, it will undoubtedly help her film career and we’ll likely see her more on the big screen.

June 11, 2014 -  Ella Purnell graced the red carpet for the UK premiere of Walking on Sunshine at Vue West End in London. She turned heads in a beautiful aqua blue mini dress. With her newfound fame as a younger version of the titular character of the summer hit Maleficent, the press is keeping a close eye on her trendy fashion statements. Fans can see her edgy taste on style featured in V Magazine’s summer issue.

The rising star nonchalantly addressed her style choices via Twitter stating, “(I've) never really been into fashion... I like individual pieces of clothing. I don't religiously buy from certain designers or certain high street shops. I like to branch out.”

Fans are excited to see what Ella plans to step onto the red carpet wearing next.
