Applause star Paprika Steen is coming stateside this fall to promote this award-winning film. In anticipation of her visit to North American audiences, the Danish actress (who was actually born in the U.S.) has launched her own official website at http://www.paprikasteenofficial.com. On it, fans can find photos and learn more about Ms. Steen’s upcoming films, past career, international awards, and future plans. In other news, the first round of World Wide’s “Ask Paprika” promotion continues. The deadline to submit questions is Friday, October 1, at which point the actress will be selecting a few to answer via YouTube.com video. Don’t miss out! Applause Coming to America!

In anticipation of the fourth quarter release of Applause, World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation is busy crafting a compelling North American version of the film’s trailer. Upon its completion, the trailer will be made available for viewing on the Web site, and the marketing team will be launching a campaign to take it viral. In other news, plans are being finalized for Paprika Steen’s U.S. press tour, which will begin Sunday, November 28, and run through the film’s scheduled premiere on Friday, December 3. Ms. Steen will be making appearances at screenings and doing interviews on both coasts. She will also be accompanied on select dates by the film’s producer, Mikael Christian Rieks, and director/co-writer, Martin Pieter Zandvliet.

Ask Paprika

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) is gearing up to launch an exciting, interactive promotion called “Ask Paprika.” The award-winning star of Applause wants to get to know her audience here in the States. Over the next few months, fans will be able to ask Ms. Steen questions via the official Facebook and Twitter for Applause. Fans can ask not only about the film, but also about the evolving motion picture industry in Europe, Paprika’s past features, her future projects, her acting style, and more. She encourages fans to be creative with their questions and not to be afraid to ask something original and interesting. Paprika’s personalized video responses to the questions selected will be posted on YouTube. The promotion will commence this month.

Independent Film Society Chlotrudis Applauds “Applause”

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) is pleased to acknowledge support for Applause by the Chlotrudis Society For Independent Film. Members of this prestigious Boston-based organization saw the film at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and were so impressed by Paprika Steen’s performance that they’ve joined our efforts to spread word-of-mouth about the picture. Last year, Steen won the coveted Chlotrudis Career-So-Far Award honoring her memorable past work both in front and behind the camera, and she may be acknowledged again for this new film with a Chlotrudis Award nomination. Movies Money Murder stars actor Martin Mull and actresses Lainie Kazan and Lee Purcell in a black comedy that finds Dr. Jim (Mull) in a compromising position between a seductive actress (Lee Purcell) and his domineering wife (Lainie Kazan) that ultimately leads to murder.

Lee Purcell plays the role of Lee McNight, an actress looking for financial assistance to produce her upcoming film, who promises to make Dr. Jim a famous movie producer if he provides her with money. When Dr. Jim agrees, a creative team for the movie is put in place at Dr. Jim’s Beverly Hills home, where filming is set to take place. As they begin to film a scene of passion between Dr. Jim and Lee, Dr. Jim’s wife unexpectedly walks in on the set and is unhappy with what she has just witnessed. In a heated moment of anger, Dr. Jim shoots his wife, leaving him and Lee to hide the body. The two are left to finish their movie and somehow cover their tracks by any means necessary, including murder.

Movies Money Murder marks a starring role for actor Martin Mull, whose acting credits include the films The Bodyguard, Clue, Mrs. Doubtfire and most recently 2010’s Killers starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. In addition to his film credits,Martin Mull has made several television appearances over the years, including ROSANNE, THE SIMPSONS and TWO AND A HALF MEN.

Actress Lainie Kazan has kept herself busy in her years since appearing in Movies Money Murder. In addition to being a Broadway and stage veteran, Lainie Kazan has starred in several other feature films, including one of her most memorable roles to date in My Big Fat Greek Wedding alongside Nia Vardalos and John Corbett. She has also made many television guest appearances, including roles on THE KING OF QUEENS, UGLY BETTY and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.
