At last, fans can relive Paprika Steen’s stellar performance in the award-winning Danish film, APPLAUSE. Through a distribution deal with Kino Lorber Inc., the picture has been made available for viewing on Netflix. Another Round of Applause – Kino Lorber
World Wide is pleased to announce that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Kino Lorber, Inc., in New York for APPLAUSE. The agreement allows Kino Lorber the right to distribute the award-winning Danish film to home video, rental (DVD), pay TV, cable TV, satellite TV, and free TV, hotel/motel viewing, pay-per-view, new media and digital rights (VOD/SVOD).

World Wide is pleased to announce that Paul Hancock, President and CEO of World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation, will will soon be taking to the Seattle airwaves discussing APPLAUSE. He will be a guest on Seattle’s The Scandinavian Hour, radio program on KKNW 1150 AM on Saturday, April 14 (the program streams live from 9-10 a.m. PT for those outside the listening area). During his interview with host Doug Warne, Mr. Hancock will be promoting the Friday, April 13, premiere of the picture at the Landmark Varsity Theatre in the Seattle area. World Wide is pleased to announce the success of its recent efforts to invite organizations in the Seattle area to support the Friday, April 13, release of APPLAUSE. Currently on board are The Scandinavian Hour (a weekly Scandinavian radio program), the Professor Edwin Weihe of the Seattle University Film Studies Program, the Danish Club Seattle of the Northwest Danish Foundation, and the University of Washington’s Scandinavian Studies Department. These individuals, organizations, and programs have agreed to publicize the film via their calendars, websites, and/or newsletters and will be encouraging their members and associates to come out and support the film’s opening weekend.
Zandvliet Does it Again!
Last year, director Martin Pieter Zandvliet made a splash at the European Union Film Festival in Chicago with a screening of APPLAUSE. Now, he’s doing it again! His new film, A FUNNY MAN, has been chosen to open the 15th annual event at the prestigious Gene Siskel Film Center. In it, Danish film stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Lars Ranthe play Dirch Passer and Kjeld Petersen, respectively: two well known comedic performers of the 1950s and 60s whose friendship was undone by fame.
