Robbie Kay’s Charity Work with LLS

robbie_lls_rugby_tournament_cropped

After playing the role of a brave leukemia patient in the upcoming film, WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER, British teen star Robbie Kay is now doing his part to support those affected by this form of cancer by volunteering with one of the film’s official supporters, theLeukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Affiliated with the LLS’ Gulf Coast chapter in recent months, Kay has been lending a hand in various capacities, including working in the office. Inspired by the LLS’ Team in Training department (which organizes fundraising sporting events and supports participants during their preparation), Kay and his father are planning to join Bike The West’s 22nd Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, a 72-mile cycling race around Lake Tahoe, CA, on Sunday, June 2.

Additionally, Kay (pictured above) organized and hosted a touch rugby tournament at his Houston-area school this month and raised more than $1,100. His efforts involved captaining and training his own school’s team, communicating with other teams to encourage their participation, arranging a barbecue and snack shack, and scheduling the day's activities. Gratified by the experience, Kay is looking forward to finding additional opportunities to volunteer with LLS.
