The trailers are up and running! The dramatic and well-crafted trailer for Applause is now playing in theaters throughout the Los Angeles area. The first batch has been sent to the Laemmle and Regal theater chains with more to follow. In all, there will be 60-70 prints of the trailer being shown alongside studio films and art-house pictures alike. New York-area trailer runs will begin soon. Have an opinion about it? Not only will internationally acclaimed actress Paprika Steen be winging her way to the U.S. soon to promote APPLAUSE, but also she’ll be arriving in style! With the Friday, January 21, North American release of Applause fast approaching, World Wide is pleased to announce the initial list of theaters at which the film will be shown. In New York, it will show at the Beekman Theatre (1271 2nd Ave.) and the Angelika Film Center (18 West Houston St.). On the West Coast, Applause will be shown in Los Angeles at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 Theatre (8000 Sunset Blvd.), in Beverly Hills at Laemmle’s Music Hall 3 (9036 Wilshire Blvd.), and in Orange County at the Edwards University Town Center 6 Theatre in Irvine (4245 Campus Drive). On November 28, the star of Applause Paprika Steen will be arriving from Denmark to begin a whirlwind press tour that will have her meeting and greeting critics, members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and fans alike at industry screenings and events on both coasts. Accompanying her on portions of her trip will be the film’s producer, Mikael Christian Rieks, and director/co-writer Martin Pieter Zandvliet. The trio will be on hand for the film’s various screenings and functions in both Los Angeles and New York.

The Sunday, October 31, edition of The New York Times said that in Applause, “Paprika Steen delivers one of five breakout performances this season.” In the special “Holiday Films” section, critic Karen Durbin’s review of the film was given prime placement in the center of the page, and she called Ms. Steen’s turn, “One of the best screen performances of the year.” Forthe rest of the rave review, click here.
