World Wide has just launched its second sweepstakes promotion for Applause. The grand prize winner will receive an invitation for two to the film's red carpet premiere event on Friday, January 21, in Los Angeles. The second prize winner will receive a coveted, autographed one-sheet (poster) from the picture. With less than a week left prior the start of Applause's Oscar-qualifying run, World Wide's marketing team has been busy getting the word out. Screeners have been mailed to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for review. Additionally, the official advertisement will be running in The Los Angeles Times beginning on Sunday, November 28, and World Wide's crew of street teamers have been reaching out to potential audience members for the film at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatre. Ticket sales are already going well. It's the The Final Countdown!

Have you seen the compelling new trailers that World Wide has released for North American audiences? Visitors to the Apple iTunes site have. Since the trailer was posted there this week, awareness of the film had increased and also driven traffic to the official Applause movie site.

The trailers are up and running! The dramatic and well-crafted trailer for Applause is now playing in theaters throughout the Los Angeles area. The first batch has been sent to the Laemmle and Regal theater chains with more to follow. In all, there will be 60-70 prints of the trailer being shown alongside studio films and art-house pictures alike. New York-area trailer runs will begin soon. Have an opinion about it?
