Count Amalfi (Louis Hayward), using the assumed name of Captain Sirocco, heads a group of men called “The Pirates of Capri” who are trying to restore freedom to the people of Naples in 1779. The Queen (Binnie Barnes) is advised of a pirate’s assault on a member of her court and seeks to escape to Palermo. But first, she’s advised to attend a ball that Amalfi is holding for his fiancée (Mariella Lotti) who is unaware of Amalfi’s dual identity.
