Max Beesley, Musician and Actor – A Man of Many Talents

Max Beesley in the movie Jamestown (2017)

Max Beesley - a man of many talents - was born 47 years ago in a small suburb in the city of Manchester, in the north west of England. Max Beesley may be primarily known for his current role in the British thriller series Mad Dogs, but he also played a big role in the movie Torque and Red Roses and Petrol. Though Beesley has had some lead acting roles in the past-acting was not his first choice.

Many might not know, but Beesley was actually a musician early in his life. He got the inspiration to pursue a musical career at an early age all thanks to his father, who played the drums, and his mother, who was a jazz singer. Before making the official transition to an actor, Beesley was quite a successful musician. He began as part of the choir for the Manchester Cathedral and later moved on to bigger things. And by bigger things we refer to him becoming percussionist and pianist for the well-known British singer, Robbie Williams.

Max Beesley had a good career as a musician, but as we all know he expanded his horizons and became an actor - a decision that we definitely cannot criticize. For this reason, we love to call Mr. Beesley a man of many talents. No matter what industry he goes into, he manages to make it to the top. Thanks to all of his hard work and dedication, he’s managed to work alongside great talent such as Ice Cube, Mariah Carey, Ray Liotta, and Forest Whitaker. A winner will always be a winner, and on this special day that will not change. Happy Birthday, Max Beesley!

Re-living Red Roses and Petrol Once Again!

9 years of unrivaled legacy from actors such as Malcolm McDowell, Olivia Tracey, Max Beesley, as well as Susan Lynch. The movie, Red Roses and Petrol revolves around the death of a family figurehead that reunites the dysfunctional family members. Malcolm McDowell (Enda Doyle) plays the role perfectly as a university librarian, poet, and an all-around complicated man that leaves the family very much scattered and drifted apart. The drama film, initially based off a stage play by Joseph O’ Conner (who is a successful Irish novelist), won multiple awards ranging from Avignon Film Festival to the Palm Springs Film Festival due to its captivating moments that stem from its family disputes and instability.

What the family could have looked like had Enda Doyle lived. Happily ever after!

Fast-forward 9 years from the theatrical release date of the film, these actors all have created a footprint in the industry and have are still pursuing great things. Malcolm McDowell will be co-hosting Broadway Barks, an annual event about a star-studded dog and cat adoption event that benefits New York City animal rescue groups whereas stars such as Olivia Tracey have taken more of a backseat route in producing films rather than acting in it.

If you have not had the opportunity to watch the film yet, you can find it here. It is also another one on the list to watch with your family during this Summer!
