World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation and Scholastic Raise Awareness for Childhood Cancers Through the Film and Book, Ways to Live Forever

Los Angeles, CA, March 06, 2013 –(PR.com)– Film distribution company World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) is coordinating efforts with book publisher Scholastic (www.scholastic.com) to raise awareness for childhood cancers through the award-winning feature film, Ways to Live Forever (www.waystoliveforevermovie.com). Slated for nationwide release this summer, the inspirational picture is based on the award-winning novel by British author Sally Nicholls, which was published in the U.S. by Arthur A. Levine Books, an imprint of Scholastic, in 2008. In the book, a spunky 12-year-old named Sam and his best friend/fellow leukemia patient, Felix, embark on a poignant and sometimes-humorous quest to achieve their dreams, answer their burning questions about life, and grow up fast. In anticipation of the picture, Scholastic is publishing a movie tie-in ebook edition of the novel (available from major book retailers as well as from Scholastic on Storia®) on Friday, March 1.

The growing list of international awards includes: Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Heartland Film Festival Audience Award, and the Jury Prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.

A portion of the box office proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the numerous other cancer-related organizations and charitable foundations that have teamed up with World Wide to support both the picture and its important message.
