It's 1975, just after the end of the Vietnam War, and Danny Parker (Bill Gray) is released from a Veteran's Administration hospital, still suffering from amnesia. At a bus stop he meets a young would-be starlet (Toni Basil) who joins him on his journey up the California coast.
